Eva van Netten

Past
I grew up in a house with a turntable, a record collection full of The Beatles and Rolling Stones and regular trips to museums. My first band was formed in first grade and the repertoire consisted of Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. Musical, creative and rebellious as I was; there was no doubt I was going to study at AoP. But before all of this I spent my highschool days studying and playing guitar every free minute of the day. Quickly I had my second band with friends, Eagle Eye Eleven, which was successful in the local music scene. We played in the finals of the ‘Kleine  Prijs of  Friesland’ in 2008 where I was awarded for the prize “Best guitarist”.

Present
By now I’m not so small and young anymore, and I’ve been through a lot. I have organized festivals, did an internship with WINK in Utrecht, including all strange but very nice parties, created music theatre in an old warehouse and at Oerol, a graduate internship with New Music Labs in Groningen and experienced  many highlights with my band BlackboxRed, such as two tours in England.

Future
BlackboxRed is doing really well and that’s where my main focus will be. Lots of music, travelling, playing abroad, crashing backstages and making more music. My life as a rock star can begin!
