Past
I was born creative and thus always worked with my hands. From an early age on I was into sports (skating, snowboarding, surfing, martial arts), dancing (breakdance) and drawing (graffiti). I even had my own breakdance school. Aged ten I started making music and aged 17 I started studying to become an art director in the field of design / advertising. Since I was 19 I’ve been teaching the drums at one of the biggest drumming schools in the Netherlands: http://www.drummers.nl and I started at the Academy of Pop Culture.
Present
I’m currently a keyboard player in the band The Heyz and with this band I opened a music center called HOUSE OF MUSIC (see photographs). Music courses (any instrument), band couching, band competitions, workshops, parties and other musical activities take place here. The Heyz is working its way up there among the bigger Dutch artists. In 2010 I put this band on the map with my graduation project which focuses on my position as a band manager.
Future
I want the Heyz to become one of the Dutch top acts. I want to expand House of Music in musical ideas and in space. I’m currently working on my own webshop (www.pakjehero.nl) where I sell costumes that I designed and that are made in China.
