Natasha Taylor

Past
I started at the Academy with the intention to focus on spatial design, but eventually this evolved into communicating ideas and involving the audience within my work. I tried many things out at the Academy from making cd covers from sugar to creating street parades. I did two joining internships at Strangeworks and The Drawing room in London. There I got to work on some amazing projects for Shunt Theatre and Tate Modern. Also during my time at the Academy I got the opportunity to invite illustration collective Le Gun, Strangeworks and Australian pop culture writer Craig Schuftan to work with us students.

Present
I’m self-employed as a freelance designer and with my final work The Museum of Parodied Art I travel to various festivals and exhibition spaces. The Museum of Parodied Art is the world’s only museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of parodied art in all its forms. By the time this booklet is out I will have also exhibited MoPA in the Fries Museum, a museum within a museum how odd is that! I’m also involved in the realization of the HERE WE EVERYWHERE 2011 graduation show and have been working on the realization of the Pop-Up Store.

Future
I will keep on working as a freelance designer but I’m also interested in exploring ways of working where the public becomes more directly involved within the process. I would like to expand The Museum of Parodied Art’s collection and have more work exhibited.
