Nena Duinmeyer

Past
Before I went to the Academy of Pop Culture, I studied at the Academy Vogue. I wanted more rock and roll and my goal was to be versatile in the world of design and pop culture. At the Academy I have amongst others designed for the Shit dat rockt party and the Island Festival as well as spatial design for Kluts and Freeze. Together with collective Loos I have invented and developed a street parade in Leeuwarden. During my internship I developed concepts for brand events and focused  on spatial design.

Present
I’m currently occupied with my own company in the construction of installations and objects for events. I have just completed an assignment to make a chandelier that will be displayed at Pinkpop and Lowlands. I made it out of enamel coffee mugs. In addition, Nina de Jong and I will continue with Pretvormer through which we can be hired to make street parades. There is already an assignment in place for a parade in Eindhoven.

Future
I want to continue making beautiful things especially in the field of community art and spatial design. In half a year I will travel to South America to learn more about the parades there and perhaps set up a project of my own.
